【摘要】:ThisEuropeanStandarddescribesamethodforthedetectionofthoseserotypesofenterovirusthatreplicateandformplaquesinBGMcellsunderagar.ThesewilllargelybepoliovirusandCoxsackievirusBserotypes.Mostserotypesofechovirus,CoxsackievirusAandanimalenterovirusesareunlikelytoproduceplaquesundertheseconditions.Reovirusesareunlikelytobedetectablewithinthespecifiedsevendayincubationperiod.Itisapplicabletoanytypeofwaterandprocessedwatersamplealthoughtoxicelementsmayinterferewithcellculture.Themethodstoconfirmthattheplaquesseencontainenterovirusaregiven.MethodstoidentifywhichserotypeofenterovirusisfoundintheplaquearenotincludedasthisisnotrequiredbytheEUBathingWaterDirective.Basiccellcultureproceduresincludingthepreparation,maintenanceandenumerationofBGMcellculturearenotdescribedbutsuggestionsaremadeformediathatmaybeused(seeAnnexA).
