【摘要】:ThisTechnicalReportprovidesinformationontheeffectofwater-solublechlorideandsulfatecontaminationlevelsonsteelsurfaces,beforetheapplicationofpaintorrelatedproductstosurfacespreparedinaccordancewithstandardmechanicalorblast-cleaningsurfacepreparationmethods.NOTEThetoleranceforwater-solublesaltcontaminationmaybedifferentfordifferentpainttypes.Thisinformationmaybeusedwhenevaluatingtheadequacyofsurfacepreparationpriortopainting.Thisdocumentisconcernedonlywithmeasuredlevelsofsaltcontaminationbaseduponeitherlaboratoryorfieldtesting.ThelevelsofsolublechlorideandsulfatediscussedinthisdocumentaretobecomparedusingsolublesurfacedensitiesofthespeciesasdeterminedafterextractioninaccordancewithISO8502-6(theBreslemethod),orothermethodsgivingequivalentresults.Totalsoluble-saltcontaminationmaybedeterminedbyconductometrictesting,butsuchtestingwillnotdeterminethenatureandconcentrationofthespecificsaltspresent,e.g.whetherchlorideorsulfateispresent,oritsconcentration.Thisdocumentdoesnotdefinespecificlevelsofcleanlinessormethodsofsaltremoval.
